Creativity has the power to inspire, educate, and drive change. Recognizing this, we launched an open call for artists and creators to tackle the pressing issue of gender-based violence (GBV).

Held during the globally recognized 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence (November 25 – December 10), led by the United Nations, the campaign aimed to amplify voices and raise awareness about GBV through art.

The open call invited visual artists, photographers, designers, and digital creators to use their talents to shine a light on themes of equality, empowerment, and zero tolerance for GBV. Creators were encouraged to break the silence around this pervasive issue, sparking conversations and challenging harmful norms through their compelling and thought-provoking works.

The campaign was a resounding success. The original open call posts have gathered over 10,000 views, and they were widely reshared by individuals, influencers, art schools, and other NGOs. The initiative even gained recognition in Marie Claire Greece, extending its reach to an even broader audience. The overwhelming response demonstrated the power of collective action and creativity in addressing societal issues like GBV.

By blending creativity with activism, the SPEAK Campaign emphasized that every voice, every story, and every piece of art can play a vital role in building a more equal and violence-free world. Together, we can amplify this movement and ensure its impact reaches far and wide.

Why This Matters

The SPEAK campaign exemplifies the power of collaboration and creativity in addressing social issues. By involving a diverse group of creators and leveraging the reach of social media, it highlighted the critical importance of equality, empowerment, and action in tackling gender-based violence.

Let’s continue to build on this momentum—because together, we can create a future where equality thrives.
